BC MSP Assistance

The 2005 provincial Budget contained provisions to enhance the premium assistance program so that it will apply to more tax payers with higher incomes. See the Spring 2005 issue of Insight.

Did you know you might be eligible for MSP premium payment assistance?

Assistance is available to anyone who, for the last 12 consecutive months, has been a Canadian citizen or is a holder of a permanent resident status (landed immigrant), and who is below the “Adjusted Net Income” (ANI) threshold of $24,000. A 100% subsidy also is offered for short-term financial hardship.

The assistance rates vary with your ANI, as follows:

Diane Lefeaux, our Manager of Personal Tax Services, is reviewing our clients’ tax returns for eligibility this Fall and can assist with making the necessary application.
